Dr Natasha Watson
Unlimited Potential
Natasha first joined Buro Happold in 2008 for a six-month internship. Returning in 2014 having achieved First Class Hons in MEng Architectural and Civil Engineering at the University of Bath and halfway through her EngD in Systems Engineering from the University of Bristol. She lives in Bath, enjoying a mix of city-living with countryside activities such as walking.
Unlimited talent
Passionate about the environment and seeking new ways to decrease the impact of buildings, Natasha champions upgrading existing buildings including renovation, refurbishments, and retrofit; from repairing and strengthening buildings to the construction of additional storeys. Natasha believes that asking probing questions about a project and the contribution it will make towards climate change is an important step towards increasing the viability of upgrading existing buildings. Asking clients to really think about the future use of a building is critical. This approach can reduce the number of construction interventions needed during the life of the building and prevent unnecessary material being added to the project and needless demolition.
Unlimited Ambition
Natasha is part of Buro Happold’s Urban C:Lab; a two-year research and developmental programme for the future leaders of the practice that aims to solve the intractable urban challenges facing the world today. She is exploring emergent disruption in the built environment and is specifically looking at biases in urban design along gender, race, and class.
After finishing my Computer Science BSc degree at The University of Bath I didn’t have very far to go to for engaging and innovative work in the field. I found my role at Zynstra through connections at the University’s placement team and joined weeks after finishing my final exam.

Unlimited Potential
After finishing my Computer Science BSc degree at The University of Bath I didn’t have very far to go to for engaging and innovative work in the field. I found my role at Zynstra through connections at the University’s placement team and joined weeks after finishing my final exam.
Unlimited talent
At Zynstra there was no possibility of dipping my toe in the water with anything trivial – I was immediately catapulted into challenging work projects. This has massively boosted my personal development, and in under a couple of years I was trusted to be a team leader responsible for delivering a management tool which is a crucial part of our virtualization and cloud management product.
Unlimited Ambition
The icing on the cake is that I have recently been promoted to Senior Developer so the next journey has just begun.
