Unlimited ambition
Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios (FCBStudios) is an architectural and urban design practice with an international reputation for design quality, for pioneering environmental expertise and a progressive architectural approach.
Unlimited innovation
Our priority is helping clients make great architecture that serves their particular needs and responds in a vital way to its context. We work in collaboration with like-minded consultants and we have global connections with organisations and charities that enable us to share our skills and test evolving knowledge about sustainable design, changing approaches to city dwelling and our requirements of our homes and workplaces. We invest in a wide programme of research which enables us to be inventive and to find new, unexpected solutions as well as learning from projects in use.
Unlimited potential
We have experience in designing for education, housing, workplace, masterplanning and urban design as well as places for art and the creative reuse of historic buildings.
We started small 40 years ago and continue to be committed to social and humanistic values in our work. We are proud to have delivered acclaimed buildings and take part of dialogue on place, heritage and climate change. We believe excellence in design can facilitate change, improvement and transformation in society. We have won more RIBA awards in the UK than any other architectural practice.
Unlimited talent
FCBStudios is a partnership of award-winning architects, urban designers, model makers and a highly skilled support team. We also have specialists in building conservation, software design and heritage interpretation and our experts in sustainability continue to lead the field.
The practice was founded in Bath in 1978 by Peter Clegg and Richard Feilden with a specific ambition to produce environmentally and socially responsive design. Keith Bradley joined the practice in 1987. We started small and now, with five offices across the UK and over 200 staff, we continue to be at the forefront of architectural design, with social and environmental responsibility remaining at the heart of our practice.

How does Bath influence your work?
As the founding location of FCBStudios, Bath is at the core of our practice. With four additional offices around the UK our Bath office remains our headquarters. The majority of our support staff are based here, alongside a wealth of talented architects.
Many of our architects teach and lecture at the University of Bath’s Department of Architecture and Engineering. Keith Bradley has received an honorary Doctorate from Bath University and Peter Clegg holds a professorship. We also designed The Edge building at the University of Bath and the University Theatre at Bath Spa University.
We have designed many buildings in Bath and the surrounding area. Some of our earliest work includes Bridgemead Nursing Home, the refurbishment of the Theatre Royal Bath and Real World Studios in Box. We are currently working on the Archway Project, a state-of-the-art Roman Baths Learning Centre and World Heritage Visitor Centre located at the heart of the city. This project includes unveiling parts of the Roman Baths that have never before been open to regular public access. We are also working on the Bath Abbey Footprint Project. Within the Abbey, the main focus is repair and conservation work to the historic floor. Alongside this, new spaces and amenities will be created, an environmentally-friendly heating system which uses Bath’s hot spring water will be installed, there will be new standards of accessibility and a Discovery Centre that will tell the story of the Abbey. As heritage architects Bath will always remain an inspirational and exciting place for us to work.
